In order to guarantee an extraordinary water resistance, Longines powered this reference with the new 42mm “Super Compressor” case patented by the case manufacturer Ervin Piquerez. Through this innovative case, the deeper the watch went the tighter the case back sealed against the gasket. The two hatched crowns are a sign that the super-compressor cases used to guarantee its water-resistance, initially up to 200 meters deep
.
Longines recently re-launched this dive watch, initially introduced in 1959; the "new" Legend Diver remained faithful to the original in terms of size and design. Here, you get one of the original models, an example from 1966. Its 42 mm size makes it extremely relevant nowadays and it looks fantastic on the dark green NATO style strap.
.
The watch itself is in very nice, honest condition. We decided to keep the original crystal with scratches, as it gives the watch a nice character and keeps the Originality true.
